Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team claimed both games of a Saturday doubleheader to sweep a three-game series from Embry-Riddle. The Fighting Knights earned a 25-11 victory in the opener before taking the nightcap by a final of 11-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game 1
- The Lynn offense wasted no time to start the scoring, striking for six runs in each of the first two frames.
- Jonathon Corbitt hit three-run dingers in consecutive inning to help put the Fighting Knights up 12-0 after just two chapters.
- Embry-Riddle plated three in the fourth, but the Blue and White responded with two in the home half.
- The Eagles combined six hits with a Lynn error in the fifth to cut the deficit to 14-7, but the Fighting Knights answered with another huge offensive inning.
- Ryan Donovan homered to start the frame, and John Silviano added Lynn's second grand slam in as many days before the inning was over.
- Two more Lynn runs came in to score after the stand-and-stretch.
- The Eagles scratched across four runs in the top of the ninth to conclude the scoring for the opener.
- Lynn's nine seniors (John Borup, Alex Caballero, Donovan Christman, Ryan Donovan, Jordan Lindsay, Mike McFerran, Alex Reiner, Eric Schindler, Kyle Schindler) were honored in between games.
Game 2
- Lynn again got on the scoreboard first in the finale after an RBI single from Eric Schindler.
- The Eagles took their first lead in the fourth when rightfielder Jonathan Camp went deep.
- The home nine regained their offensive momentum in the sixth inning, as Alex Reiner singled up the middle to give the Fighting Knights a 4-2 edge.
- Embry-Riddle tied the game in the top of the seventh, but Lynn answered the call in the eighth with their second seven-spot of the twinbill.

STATS FROM THE GAMES:
- The Blue and White totaled 36 hits in Saturday's doubleheader to give them 52 for the weekend.
- Borup and Silviano each posted five hits, while three Fighting Knights hit a pair of home runs.
- Alex Turner proved to be productive from the middle of the order, scoring six runs on the afternoon.
- Jonathon Wake earned the win in the opener after tossing 3.1 innings of relief work and allowing just two hits.
- Lefthander Rigo Beltran turned in six innings on the mound in the nightcap, fanning eight and scattering five hits before giving way to the bullpen.
- Jonathan Eisdorfer and Payton Smith combined for 1.2 scoreless frames, with the latter qualifying for the win before Borup hurled an unblemished ninth.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Lynn smashed 14 homers in the series, the highest total in a three-game series for the Fighting Knights this season.
- Individually, Silviano is tied for first in all levels of NCAA baseball with 30 home runs.
- 53 runs crossed the plate on Saturday, the most Lynn has seen in any doubleheader this spring.

The Fighting Knights now await the announcement of NCAA South Regional qualifiers, which is expected to come on Sunday, May 15th. The NCAA South Regional is comprised of teams from the Sunshine State, Gulf South, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conferences.
