Box Score BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn baseball team found themselves down heading into the 7th-inning stretch for a second time this weekend, and used a five-run inning to defeat rival Barry University, 9-4, on Saturday afternoon. Daniel Nuzzi came out of the back end of the bullpen and was able to limit the Bucs' hitters after starting pitcher, Donovan Armas left the game.

STATS of THE GAME:
- Newcomers continue to make their mark for the Blue and White early this season, as Jake Rouse went 1-for-4 at the plate, knocking in one RBI, scoring one run and reaching base once on a walk. Patrick Dorrian wanted in on the action as he batted .400 on the day (2-for-5) while knocking in two RBI and touching home plate twice in the game.
- After starting on the mound on Friday afternoon, Frank Grandinette was inserted into the lineup as a designated hitter, and executed, hitting 2-for-5 at the plate.
- Senior transfer Karl Ellison recorded his third hit of the early season, going 1-for-4 on the afternoon.
- Newcomers were the story yesterday, but the returnees for the Fighting Knights wanted to respond, and the combination of Jonathan Corbitt, Gabe Martinez, Miguel Ceballos and Alex Turner went 6-for-13, six RBI, reached base on balls five times, and scored three runs.
- Turner hit a momentum-changing triple to lead off the seventh inning and initializing the five-run inning.
- Donovan Armas got the starting nod from the head ball coach, and put up impressive numbers in his first appearance of the year. The senior leader managed to pitch 4.2 innings, giving up four hits, one run and struck out eight batters.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- With nine runs today and seven on Friday, the 16 total runs is the most in the first two games of a season since scoring 17 in the 2011 campaign.
- The Blue and White bats woke up at the seventh-inning stretch for the second consecutive game. The home team scored four in the inning against Alabama-Huntsville, and five versus in-state rival Barry Bucs.
- Lynn has surrendered only eight hits to opposing teams in its first two contests.
