No. 15 Baseball Blanks the Panthers, Sweep Weekend Series

BOCA RATON, FLA. – The Lynn University baseball team used a dominant pitching performance from Frank Grandinette and late inning offense to shutout Adelphi on Saturday afternoon, 5-0.

 STATS OF THE GAME: 
  • The Fighting Knights managed to shut down the Panthers lineup in game two of the series with an impressive starting performance from Grandinette. The senior righty went a season-high 8.0 innings pitched, while putting up a no runs on seven hits and fanning three Adelphi batters. Michael Imperato finished the game off for the Fighting Knights giving up two hits but holding the visiting team off the board.
  • The Blue and White were outhit by the Panthers, 9-8, and each team left six runners stranded.
  • Five different players recorded hits, and three of the earned multi-base hits: Miguel Ceballos, Jarren Pinkney and Jake Rouse. Karl Ellison and Willie Seay had one base knock as well.
  • Ceballos and Pinkney combined to knock in all five of the runs for Lynn.
 

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE: 

  • This is the first multi-game stretch in the season without committing an error for the Blue and White.
  • Lynn is riding a four-game win streak heading back into a Sunshine State Conference weekend series on the road.
  • The Fighting Knights have been a dominant hitting team, and own a team average of .368, slugging percentage of .614, and have sent 56 balls out of the park through just 27 games.

UP NEXT: 
The Fighting Knights will take the next five days to prepare for their first road SSC series of the season, as they travel to Florida Tech for a three game set. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
