Box Score 2 BOCA RATON, FLA. – The Lynn University baseball team took on top-ranked Nova Southeastern on Saturday, splitting the double header in the Sunshine State Conference series, and salvaging the final game to avoid being swept at home.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Game 1
- Only one Fighting Knight starter went hitless in the contest. Tyler Curtis once again led the way at the plate with three hits and one RBI. Patrick Dorrian, Gabe Martinez and Karl Ellison all recorded multiple base hits. Finally, Miguel Ceballos, Jake Rouse, Jonathon Corbitt and DJ Daniels added one hit to the boxscore.
- Frank Grandinette got his second Saturday start on the mound, going 5.0 innings, giving up eight earned runs, four walks and striking out four at the plate.
- Matt Hardy, the starting pitcher for the Sharks, was impressive. He went 7.0 innings and gave up four runs, but only one was earned, and struck out seven members of the Blue and White.
- The Fighting Knights came up empty more times than not, leaving 12 runners stranded in the game.
- Game 2
- The Fighting Knights were led by the bats of Dorrian (4-for-5, two RBI) and Corbitt (3-for-3, three RBI). Curtis was the only other member of the Blue and White with multiple hits in the second game of the double header. These three combined for nine of the 14 hits.
- Michael Imperato received the starting nod for the final game of the series. Jonathan Eisdorfer and Enrique Perez went the final six innings and only gave up one earned run between them, shutting down the top-ranked team in the country in order to take one game of the series.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The 21 hits given up in game one of the double header is the most by the Blue and White in one game this season.
- Each team hit in the double digits in each contest in the series.
- The victor scored double-digit runs in all three games this weekend.
- Perez's performance in game two of the double header was his second appearance of the year giving up an earned run.
