West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team saw its season come to a close on Sunday afternoon as the team rounded out its schedule with a Sunshine State Conference loss to Palm Beach Atlantic, 14-8. The game endured a lengthy rain delay in the bottom of the second inning that spanned more than an hour, but the two teams waited out the weather and played the game to completion.

STATS OF THE GAME:

• Patrick Dorrian capped his collegiate career with a strong day at the plate, going 3-for-5 and finishing just a home run shy of the cycle. He scored once and drove in a run, finishing the season with a .394 batting average.
• Jake Rouse concluded the season with a 3-for-4 day, homering in his first at-bat and driving in a run with a double in the seventh inning.
• Gabe Martinez racked up a pair of hits in the game, driving in a run with an eighth-inning double and scoring twice.
• Willie Seay clubbed his ninth home run of the season, a long shot to left field in the fifth inning.
• DJ Daniels went 1-for-2 with a walk off the bench, driving in a pair of runs with a double in the third inning.
• Jonathon Wake shouldered the loss for Lynn, going 1.2 innings and allowing eight runs before the rain delay forced him from the game.
• Alec Hernandez, Zack Miednik, Connor Davis and Enrique Perez each threw a scoreless inning as the Fighting Knights kept PBA scoreless over the final four frames.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Lynn had five batters finish the season with a .300 or better batting average while making at least 100 plate appearances.
• Dorrian finished his career at Lynn with a 56-game on-base streak as he reached base safely in each of his 49 games as a senior in addition to a seven-game streak that closed the 2017 season.
• Dorrian's triple was his sixth of the season, giving him the most triples in a season by a Fighting Knight since 2007.
• This was the first season in which Lynn finished below .500 since 2010.
