Boca Raton, Florida – Lynn men's swimming opened their season Friday afternoon with a home meet against Keiser University. In the end, the Fighting Knights lost 130-75.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the opening event of the meet, the Fighting Knights swam neck-and-neck with the Seahawks for all four legs of the 200-yard medley relay. Ultimately, Keiser came out on top with a time of 1:38.46, while Lynn finished second with a time of 1:39.80.
- In the 1000-yard freestyle, Fighting Knights Derek Halas and David Romeo finished second and third with times of 10:42.36 and 11:00.20, respectively. Keiser's Segel Acuna took home first place in the event with a time of 10:03.52.
- In the 200-yard freestyle, Lynn took second, fourth and sixth place. Brad Jacobs was the best finisher for the Fighting Knights (1:50.70) and Owen Pogwist (1:53.34) also scored.
- The 50-yard freestyle proved to be the best race of the entire event with five swimmers finishing within .16 seconds of each other. Ultimately, Keiser took home the first two places, with Lynn's Ethan Engelhardt (22.64) and Philip Rhodes (22.70) finishing third and fourth.
- Daniel Varon and Jasim Abu-Dan finished fourth and fifth in the 200-yard individual medley to score three points for the Fighting Knights.
- Pogwist, Cameron Dunne and Alex Flanagan scored six points for Lynn in the 100-yard butterfly.
- Rhodes won the first event of the meet for the Fighting Knights when he took first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.86. Engelhardt was third, and Caleb Downey rounded out the scoring in fifth place.
- In the 100-yard backstroke, Mike Sickels, Jacob Wootton and Abu-Dan finished second, third and fourth to score nine points for Lynn.
- Jacobs (5:04.81) and Halas (5:14.97) managed fourth and fifth in the 500-yard freestyle.
- Varon took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.34. Joseph Cirame also scored for the Fighting Knights, finishing fourth with a time of 1:04.28.
- The team ended the meet on a high note when they took home first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.93. The other competing team for the Fighting Knights took third.

The Fighting Knights return to the pool for the two-day TYR Fall Classic in Miami, Florida on Friday, October 8, and Saturday, October 9.
