Lake Worth, Florida – Alice Gatti (-2) and Maria Hoyos (E) finished first and tied for 2nd, as No. 1 Lynn used an outstanding 279 (-9) final round to win the Palm Beach Intercollegiate by 11 strokes over No. 18 Nova Southeastern. National No. 4 Barry finished third with a score of +18.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Gatti won her first tournament as a Fighting Knight by using consistent play to shoot 214 (-2) for the event. She shot even par for both of the first two rounds, and then she followed it up with a 70 on the final day of the event. She shot the most pars of the tournament with 44, and she was tied for the best score of all players on par 4s (E) with fellow Fighting Knight Camila Madariaga. She finished tied for fifth (E) on par 3s and tied for fourth (-2) in par 5 scoring.
- Hoyos shot the best round of the entire tournament, posting a 65 (-7) in the final round to move up 11 spots from 12th to second. Her third round was the lowest round of any Fighting Knight so far this season. She recorded the most birdies in the tournament (11) and she was one of three players to record an eagle. She was tied for the best score of any golfer on par 5s (-3).
- Madariaga finished eighth place with a final score of 221 (+5). Her lowest round of the event was in the first round when she shot a 71 (-1). In addition to tying Gatti for the best par 4 total, she shot the third most pars in the tournament (38) and she recorded eight birdies.
- Sara Ericsson, who led the Fighting Knights to victory at the DBU Women's Classic in September, finished tied for ninth with two other golfers. She finished with a score of 223 (+7) and was able to use a final round 71 (-1) to move up seven places from where she started the day.
- Adrianna Iribarren finished tied for 16th with a score of 226 (+10). Her final round 73 (+1) was her best of the event.
- The Fighting Knights as a team shot the most pars (179), most birdies (40), and tied for the most eagles (1) in the event. They also shot the best score on par 3s (+1), par 4s (+18), and the second-best on par 5s (+1).
- Despite winning by 11, they actually sat in second place entering the final round, one stroke behind Nova Southeastern. However, they outshot the Sharks by 12 in the final round to take home the title.
NEXT COURSE:
The Fighting Knights will be back in action next week when they play the Legends Invitational at the Country Club of Orlando on Oct. 25 and 26. It will be the final event of the Fall for the women, as they look to head into the winter 4-0 in tournaments.
