SAVANNAH Ga. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up the third and final day of the Savannah College of Art & Design Invite, Saturday.
The Fighting Knight women took third place of seven teams, while the men finished in fourth place of eight teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior
Luna Mertins captured first place in the 200-yard backstroke in 1:57.78
- In the women's 100 freestyle, graduate student
Helga Fodor finished first in 50.60.
- Sophomore
Laura Dekoninck and senior
Shachaf Bachar finished second and sixth in the women's 100 freestyle in 51.08 and 53.04
- In the men's 100 freestyle senior
Dalton Brown finished ninth in 46.67 and graduate student
Julian Chan Quee Lin was 11
th in 46.92
- In the 200 butterfly, sophomore
Alexander Flanagan and sophomore
Owen Pogwist finished 17
th and 18
th, respectively, at 2:02.67 and 2:03.49
- Graduate student
Claudia Porta finished fifth in the women's 200 breaststroke in 2:22.57
- In the men's 200 breaststroke senior
Kamil Piotrowicz finished first in 2:00.11
- The women's 4x100 freestyle relay team of Mertins, Bachar, Dekoninck and Fodor were first with an NCAA Championship provisional time of 3:24.50
- Mertins finished the three-day meet a perfect 7-for-7 with four individual wins and three relay victories
- Fodor capped the invite with two individual wins and three relay wins
- The men's 4x100 freestyle relay team of Chan Quee Lin, Brown, senior
Malek Masmoudi and senior
Ignacio Alvarez took fifth in 3:05.87
