HOW IT HAPPENED

  • As they've been doing all season, the Fighting Knights picked up the doubles point, winning both first and second doubles. Both wins came in impressive fashion, with the first doubles team of Karyna Bihel and Jacqueline Wagner who were ranked No. 15 in the nation earlier this week, winning 6-2, and the second doubles team of Zofia Podbiol and Giorgia Pigato winning 6-1.
  • Singles got underway, but a brief rain delay paused the action before any of the matches could be completed.
  • After the delay, the Fighting Knights came out with a vengeance and took care of business against Wayne St.
  • Eliska Petrackova won fifth singles by a score of 6-1, 6-1 to put Lynn up 2-0.
  • Barbora Cibakova then locked up Lynn's third point by defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-0, her first such score of the season.
  • Finally, No. 32 Pigato was able to easily win third singles 6-0, 6-1 to lock up the sweep for Lynn.
  • The remaining three matches were not finished due to Lynn already clinching the match.
