HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Greyson Fletcher would start for the seventh time this season, as the Fighting Knights take on Barry.
- It was a slugfest early with Lynn going down 1-0 in the top of the second inning.
- After the second inning Fletcher would pitch a shutout over the next six innings.
- A big strikeout to close the third inning slowed the momentum for Barry, as they put two runners on with no runs to show for it.
- Both sides were in a hitting slump for the majority of the game until the eighth inning.
- Two big runs from the Fighting Knights in the eighth gave them their first lead of the game 2-1. The lead-off hit by Joseph Encarnacion was the momentum the Fighting Knights needed to start the inning.
- With two outs and a runner in scoring position Joseph Rosselli would hit line-drive double to center field, bringing home Encarnacion for the first run of the game for Lynn. The very next at-bat Byron Murray would smash a double of his own to left field to bring home Rosselli and give Lynn a 2-1 lead.
- Jake Buxbaum would come in to relieve Fletcher at the start of the ninth inning. Fletcher finished the game with four strikeouts and allowed one run in eight innings pitched.
- Buxbaum would only put one batter on base as he closed out Barry in the final inning, while also throwing one strikeout for the first out.
- Lynn would only commit one error compared to two from Barry, which proved to be major as the game went on.
- Fletcher will move to (6-0) on the season, while Buxbaum picked up his fifth save of the season for the Fighting Knights.
