Rosselli's 13th inning walk-off leads Lynn to victory over Sailfish

West Palm Beach, Florida – After a hard-fought battle and 13 uninterrupted innings of an instant classic the Fighting Knights prevail 6-5 over Palm Beach Atlantic

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Fighting Knights would get things going early after a single to right field by Yuzuki Okamura, then Ryan Ford was walked a few at-bats later to put a runner in scoring position.
  • Anthony Sanabria blasted a double to center field after the Ford walk to bring home two runs, and take an early 2-0 lead heading into the second inning.
  • A solo home-run shot by the Sailfish gave them their first run of the game. In the top of the third Palm Beach Atlantic would add to it to tie the game 2-2.
  • One run in the sixth inning by the Sailfish would give them their first lead of the game 3-2.
  • Okamura was walked early in the inning to give the Fighting Knights life in the seventh, then Ford would be walked shortly after. Sanabria belted a triple to right field bringing home his third and fourth RBI to tie the game 4-4.
  • With the very next at bat, Brandon Kruzinski would help Lynn regain a 5-4 lead with a single down the right line.
  • An error by Lynn allowed Palm Beach Atlantic to score the game-tying run in the bottom of the ninth.
  • Sanabria would hit a lead-off single in the bottom of the 13th to get things started for Lynn. Back-to-back hits by Joseph Encarnacion and Kruzinski would have the bases loaded with no outs. 
  • A walk-off single by Joseph Rosselli sealed the victory for the Fighting Knights 6-5
  • Encarnacion, Kruzinski, and Sanabria would all have three hits each to lead the Fighting Knights, while Sanabria led the way with four RBIs.
  • Jose Martinez would pitch the final six innings, throwing six strikeouts during that stretch. 

UP NEXT:

The Fighting Knights will be on the road for their three-game series against Florida Southern on Thursday, Apr. 14 at 6 p.m.
