St. Petersburg, Florida – The Fighting Knights use a four-run inning in the eighth inning to pull away from Eckerd and take a 8-4 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Drew Dwyer would set the tone for the Fighting Knights in the first inning, throwing two strikeouts for the final two outs of the inning.
• Greyson Fletcher would through a strikeout in the bottom of the third to end the inning, as both teams are held scoreless through three innings.
• After a ground out in the first at-bat, Daniel Alfonzo would single through the right side to get the first runner on base for Lynn.
• Anthony Sanabria would smash a single of his own to third base, then Brandon Kruzinski matched with a single of his own to bring home the first run of the game.
• Joseph Encarnacion got things in the top of the fifth, with a single through the first side to lead off the inning.
• Back to Back bunts by Pedro Martinez and Anthony Orrico loaded the bases for the Fighting Knights, then Byron Murray would hit a rocket up the middle to bring home two runs and take a 3-0 lead.
• Sanabria would single later in the inning, bringing home the final run of the inning for Lynn.
• Eckerd would get on the board with a lone run in the bottom of the fifth to make it 4-1.
• Back to Back hits by Eckerd with runners on base brought home two runners, while cutting into the Lynn lead 4-3.
• After a Kruzinski walk, Peter Avino would hit a sacrifice bunt to put a runner in scoring position.
• With two outs in the inning, Orrico singled to right field bringing home one run for Lynn.
• Murray would single through the right side with the very next at-bat bringing home the second run of the inning.
• The third straight hit of the inning by Alfonzo brought two home to extend the Fighting Knight's lead 8-3.
• After allowing one run in the eighth inning, Dwyer would close the game with two back-breaking strikeouts to end the game. The Fighting Knights would take game one of the three-game series over Eckerd 8-4. 
• Fletcher picked up his seventh win of the season moving him to (7-2).
• Dwyer stuffed the stat sheet in 2.2 innings pitched, throwing six strikeouts.
• Orrico led the way offensively with three this, followed by Murray, Alfonzo, and Sanabria with two each.
