MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced its weekly award winners and Lynn volleyball junior Isabella Gentile was selected as the league's Defensive Player of the Week, Monday.
 
Gentile helped the Fighting Knights to a 3-0 week as all three victories came at the 2023 SSC/GSC Crossover. Lynn swept all three opponents; Alabama-Huntsville, West Georgia and Valdosta State.
 
Gentile, a Naples, Fla. native, led all players at the Crossover with 58 digs. She averaged 6.44 digs per set and posted a weekend-best 24 digs against West Georgia. She also added seven assists and three service aces.
 
She paces the SSC this fall with 350 digs and is second in the conference at 4.49 digs per set. She is 12^th in the league with 24 service aces.
 
Lynn returns to the court on Friday at No. 4 Tampa at 7:00 pm.
