MELBOURNE, Fla. – The 2023 South Region All-Crossover Team has been announced and Lynn University volleyball standouts Isabella Gentile, Emily Edwards and Aline Olegario were among the 14 student-athletes named to the all-tournament team.
 
The South Region Crossover matched all 11 SSC members against 11 teams from the Gulf South Conference this past weekend at the Game Point Events Center in Orlando, Fla. The SSC dominated the event, winning 27 of 31 matches, while 13 of the 14 all-tournament selections went to SSC student-athletes. Lynn finished 3-0 on the weekend and all three wins came via a 3-0 shutout.
 
Edwards repeated as an all-tournament selection, while Gentile and Olegario appeared on the list for the first time.
 
Edwards handed out 106 assists in the three matches and added 18 digs and three service aces. She finished third among all players at 11.78 assists per set and passed out a weekend-best 40 assists against Alabama-Huntsville.
 
Gentile dominated the Crossover and led all players at 6.44 digs per set, almost 1.5 higher than the next closest player. She totaled 58 digs in nine sets and earned SSC Defensive Player of the Week honors for impressive stats.
 
Olegario continued her spectacular play after hitting .406 in three matches with 34 kills and eight blocks. She posted 12 kills, three blocks and hit .450 against West Georgia.
 
As a team, Lynn led all schools at the Crossover in digs per set (17.56) and opponent hitting percentage (.052). The Fighting Knights also finished third in kills (14.44) and assists (13.33).
 
Lynn hits the road this coming weekend when it visits No. 2 Tampa on Friday at 7:00 pm and Florida Southern on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
