DAVIE, Fla. – The Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams totaled four wins on Friday on the first day of a two-day dual with FIU and Nova Southeastern. Freshman
Max Tsyfarov powered the men's team with two wins, while
Laura Dekoninck and
Luna Mertins each posted one victory to lead the 14
th-ranked women.
HOW IT HAPPENED (Women):
- Dekoninck won the 100 backstroke in 57.10 and captured second place in the 50 freestyle at 23.61
- Mertins collected a win in the 50 fly (25.57) and took runner-up in the 200 fly (2:05.50)
- The duo were joined by
Claudia Porta and
Malaika Schneider for third in the 200 yard medley relay in 1:46.35
- Schneider took second place in the 50 breaststroke at 30.10
- Porta added seventh place in the 50 breaststroke at 31.43

Shachaf Bachar captured sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:56.55) and ninth in the 500 freestyle (5:14.89)

Olivia Flack was sixth in the 500 free at 24.91

Sasha Giourtzidou took seventh in the 200 breaststroke in 2:24.53
HOW IT HAPPENED (Men):
- Tsyfarov posted wins in the both the 50 fly (22.70) and 200 IM (1:52.34)

Malek Masmoudi was runner-up in the 200 free (1:44.37) and 500 free (4:41.08)

Kamil Piotrowicz captured second in both the 50 breaststroke (25.92) and 200 breaststroke (2:05.76)
- Tsyfarov, Piotrowicz,
Maurice Grabowski and
Spencer Hobbs took second in the 200 medley relay at 1:33.02

Ryan Zasas,
Owen Pogwist and
Alexander Fiola finished in third (1:37.8) in the 200 medley relay
- Grabowski was second in the 100 backstroke (52.87) and third in the 50 freestyle (21.55)

Lincoln Greseth was third in both the 200 IM (1:59.41) and 500 freestyle (4:41.44)
- Zasas took third in the 50 breaststroke (27.12) and 200 breaststroke (2:13.89)
- Sickels was third in the 100 backstroke in 53.86
- The 400 freestyle relay of Masmoudi, Fiola,
Conor Dunne and
Jack Budd were second in 3:11.00
