Lynn women named top seed in NCAA South Region Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship field and No. 1 ranked Lynn University is one of the 48 teams selected to the tournament. The Fighting Knights are the top seed in the South Regional Championship that will be hosted by the Univ. of North Georgia at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia.
 
The south region championship will be conducted May 8-10 and will be a 54-hole competition. The top five teams from the south region will advance to the NCAA Championships May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri.
 
Lynn enters the south regional championship with three-straight tournament wins on its resume as the Fighting Knights captured the Lynn Invitational (April 3-4), the Harvard Invitational (Apr. 8-9) and the Sunshine State Conference Championship (Apr. 16-18).
 
Lynn has eight wins in 11 tournaments during the 2022-23 athletic year.
 
The Fighting Knights are familiar with Chattahoochee Golf Club as they competed at the NCAA Championships in Gainesville last spring.
 
The South Region Championship features several ranked teams, including No. 3 Anderson, No. 5 Nova Southeastern, No. 9 Tampa, No. 10 Rollins, No. 12 Lee, No. 13 Limestone and No. 19 Barry.
