LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2023 United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Awards have been released and Lynn University earned the academic honor for the 16^th time. The Fighting Knights were further honored by being named to the Honor Roll for the first time in program history after finishing inside the top 20 percent of GPAs in NCAA Division II.
 
Lynn is one of just 31 teams from across NCAA DII to earn the Honor Roll distinction after carrying a 3.78 GPA during the 2022-23 academic year. The Fighting Knights are also one of just two schools from the Sunshine State Conference on the honor roll (Tampa).
 
In total, the AVCA announced that 1,333 college and high school volleyball teams earned the academic team award for maintaining a 3.3 GPA throughout the 2022-23 academic year.
 
The academic award was first handed out following the 1992-93 year and Lynn is one of 24 teams at DII to have earned the award 16 or more times.
