MIAMI, Fla. – The Lynn University men's swimming team opened the 2024-25 season at the FIU Fall Classic and swam to 16-top-five finishes and a fifth-place team finish, Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn posted top-five finishes in all four relays, while six individual swimmers totaled 12 top-five efforts
- Freshman
Kamil Geisner led the charge with runner-up in both the 100 (51.79) and 200-yard backstroke (1:52.95)
- Junior
Vitaly Kostin posted second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:38.32) and third in both the 100 (49.19) and 200 butterfly (1:53.11)
- Sophomore
Ryan Zasas was third in the 100 breaststroke (56.71) and fourth in the 200 breast (2:10.74)
- Junior
Maurice Grabowski took fourth in the 100 free (47.61) and fifth in the 50 free (21.50)
- Freshman
Eli Spivak finished in fourth place in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:46.57
- Sophomore
Paul Warnagiris added fifth place in both the 200 (2:01.85) and 400-yard IM (4:21.48)
- The 400-yard medley relay team of Geisner, Zasas, Kostin and Grabowski took home fourth place in 3:25.28
- Kostin, Grabowski, Zasas and junior
Paul Melcer led the 200-yard freestyle relay to fourth in 1:26.06
- Kostin, Spivak, Grabowski and freshman
Cole Faikish powered the 400 free relay to fourth at 3:09.99
- Melcer, Zasas, Geisner and Grabowski posted fifth place in the 200 medley relay in 1:37.86
