Day Two Results
OCALA, Fla. – The Lynn University women's swimming team posted two wins on the second day of the Sunshine State Conference Championships, Thursday.
The Fighting Knight women sit in third place in the standings with 151 points, trailing just Nova Southeastern (296 pts.) and Tampa (231). The Lynn men are currently in fifth place with 125 points, just three points behind Rollins (128).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior
Laura Dekoninck factored in both wins for the Lynn women
- She opened the evening with a win and NCAA "A" time in the 50 freestyle at 22.53
- Dekoninck, along with sophomore
Malaika Schneider, graduate
Luna Mertins and freshman
Lexi Lundell won the 100 medley relay with an NCAA "B" time of 1:40.53
- Mertins took second in the 50 free with an NCAA "B" time of 22.87
- Schneider captured fifth in the 50 free with an NCAA "B" time of 23.37
- Graduate
Sasha Giourtzidou took ninth in the 200 yard IM in an NCAA "B" time of 2:04.80
- Freshman
Max Tsyfarov finished fifth in the 200 yard IM with an NCAA "B" time of 1:49.13
- Sophomore
Maurice Grabowski added fifth place in the 50 free in an NCAA "B" time of 20.17
- The 200 medley relay team of Grabowski, junior
Kamil Piotrowicz, sophomore
Spencer Hobbs and freshman Sasha Fiola were fifth in the 200 medley relay in 1:29.62
- Graduates
Lincoln Greseth and
Malek Masmoudi both hit NCAA "B" cut times in the 1,000 freestyle as Greseth took eighth (9:22.94) and Masmoudi was 10th (9:28.05)
