Day Three Results
OCALA, Fla. – Graduate
Luna Mertins earned a spot on the podium in the 100 butterfly to accent the third night of the Sunshine State Conference Championships for the Lynn University men's and women's swimming teams, Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Mertins held the fastest time after the morning prelims (53.59) and she lowered the time in the evening to 53.30
- The time was an NCAA "A" cut mark and handed Mertins second place
- Sophomore
Maurice Grabowski finished in 15
th place in the men's 100 butterfly with a time of 49.46
- Two swimmers hit NCAA "B" cut times in the 400 IM as graduate
Sasha Giourtzidou captured ninth place in 4:26.41 and graduate
Lincoln Greseth was sixth in 3:59.21
- Junior
Laura Dekoninck took fourth in the 200 free with a "B" time of 1:50.45
- Sophomore
Malaika Schneider was eighth in the 200 free with a "B" time of 1:52.84
- Graduate
Shachaf Bachar finished in 13th in 1:53.04 in the 200 free
- Graduate
Malek Masmoudi was fifth in the 200 free with a "B" time of 1:38.11
- Freshman
Max Tsyfarov also hit a "B" time with sixth place in the 200 free in 1:38.61
- Giourtzidou, Bachar,
Claudia Porta and
Amy Evans were fifth in the 400 medley relay in 3:52.50
