ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Seniors
Camila Madariaga and
Sara Ericsson posted top-10 finishes to lead the 11
th-ranked Lynn University women's golf team to a win at the World Golf Invitational, hosted by Flagler College, Tuesday.
Lynn fired a +20, 884 to finish 10 strokes clear of No. 2 ranked Rollins, which fired a +3, 894. The Fighting Knights also defeated No. 1 Nova Southeastern (+31, 895), No. 7 Flagler (+32, 896), No. 10 Barry (+53, 917), No. 13 Saint Leo (+34, 898), No. 19 Limestone (+45, 909) and No. 21 Lander (+39, 903).
The tournament was hosted at Slammer & Squire Golf Course (par 72, 6,049 yards).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lynn fired an E, 288 to lead after round one and shot a +9, 297 to lead the field after round two
- The Fighting Knights closed with a +11, 299 to take the championship trophy
- Lynn was the only school in the tournament to shoot an E, 288 or better
- All five Fighting Knights finished inside the top-20
- Madariaga fired a +6, 222 to tie for seventh place
- She improved in each round after shooting a +9, 79, a +3, 75 and a -4, 68
- Her -4, 68 in the third round was tied for the tournament's best score in a round
- Ericsson finished in a tie for ninth after shooting a +7, 223
- She opened with a +2, 74 and followed with a +4, 76 and a +1, 73

- She posted scores of -2, 70, +3, 75 and +7, 79
