BOCA RATON, Fla. – The ninth-ranked Lynn University women's golf team took home third place at the Buccaneer Invitational at Miami Shores Country Club, Tuesday.
The Fighting Knights fired a +26, 878 and finished one stroke behind second place and No. 2 ranked Nova Southeastern at +25, 877. Host and 12th-ranked Barry won the tournament at +13, 865.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Knights opened with a +2, 286 and followed with rounds of +11, 295 and +13, 297
- Lynn paced the 11-team field in birdies (37) and tied for second in Par 3 scoring (+10, 3.17)

Sara Ericsson and freshman
Amelia Ruiz Topali led the way by finishing in a five-way tie for seventh place (+5, 218)
- Ericsson posted rounds of +3 (74), E (71) and +2 (73)
- She was one of two players in the field to record an eagle
- Ruiz opened with a -4 (67) and added +4 (75) and +5 (76) in the final two rounds
- She finished second in Par 3 scoring (E, 3.00) and tied for the lead with 10 birdies

- She posted +1 (72) in the first and third rounds and added +5 (76) in the second

Adriana Iribarren tied for 27

- She opened with +1 (73) in the first two rounds before closing with a +7 (78) in the final round
