MELBOURNE, Fla. – The 2023-24 NCAA Division II men's basketball regular season has come to a close and Lynn University has earned the fourth seed in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament that starts on Tuesday evening. The Fighting Knights will host fifth seed Palm Beach Atlantic in the opening round at the de Hoernle Sports Center at 7:00 pm.
Lynn enters the tournament with a 16-10 overall record and closed the regular season at 11-9 in the SSC. Meanwhile, the Sailfish are 17-11 overall and 11-9 in the league.
The two schools split the regular-season series as the Fighting Knights lost at PBA, 76-59, in mid-January and defeated the Sailfish, 97-92, in Boca in early February.
Defending National Champion Nova Southeastern (24-2, 18-2 SSC) is the top seed followed by Florida Southern (21-8, 15-5 SSC) and Embry-Riddle (20-8, 14-6 SSC).
Following Tuesday's opening round, the tournament semifinals will be held on Thursday, March 7th, and the championship final will be played on Sunday, March 10th. The SSC champion will receive automatic qualification to the 2024 NCAA Division II Championships.
