BOCA RATON, Fla. – Lynn University sophomore left-hander
Ryan DiMaggio has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) 2026 Division II Preseason All-South Region Team, recognizing him as one of the top returning starting pitchers in the region.
DiMaggio earned the preseason honor after an outstanding freshman campaign in 2025, emerging as a key piece of the Fighting Knights' rotation. The Centreville, Md. native started 15 games, posting a 7-3 record with 65 strikeouts across 77.1 innings of work. He ranked ninth in the Sunshine State Conference with a 3.61 ERA, while holding opposing hitters to just a .243 batting average.
A consistent presence against league competition, six of DiMaggio's seven victories came versus SSC opponents, and he closed the regular season in dominant fashion, earning the win in each of his final five starts.
DiMaggio was one of five Sunshine State Conference pitchers recognized on the NCBWA's preseason list and the lone representative from Lynn University.
The honor adds to the growing preseason momentum surrounding the Fighting Knights, as it was also announced Tuesday that Lynn is receiving votes in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.
With DiMaggio anchoring a veteran staff, the Fighting Knights enter the 2026 season with high expectations as they prepare for another challenging year in one of Division II's premier conferences.
Lynn opens the 2026 campaign at home on Friday, January 30, against Wingate.
