Box Score Pembroke, N.C. – Two second-half goals propelled Lynn University's fifth-ranked men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over UNC Pembroke on Sunday afternoon. Kyle Conrad logged his second game-winning goal of the season and seventh of his career while the Fighting Knights defense held the Braves without a shot on goal. Lynn improves to 3-1 overall.
A scoreless game was snapped in the 63rd minute of play when the Blue & White capitalized on a corner kick. Christian Dohnert chipped in a short cross which Conrad was able to head past UNC Pembroke keeper Ryan Hanson.
Just over a minute later Lynn would strike again, this time from Ewan Clarke. The freshman forward took control of a bad clearance and ripped a shot past Hanson for his third goal of the year.
Lynn's defense stymied the Braves attack throughout the day, holding the hosts to three wayward shots, none of which reached its mark.
The Fighting Knights return to action on Monday, September 13, at 7 p.m. when they square off at Anderson (S.C.).
