Softball Drops Opener To #17 Rollins

Winter Park, Fla. – Lynn University's softball team dropped the opener of a three-game series with No. 17 Rollins, 10-0, Friday night at Lake Island Park.  The Fighting Knights fall to 6-25 and 1-6 in the Sunshine State Conference while the Tars improve to 30-1 and 7-0 in the SSC.

Mandi Brown recorded the only two base hits for the Blue & White as she singled in the first and fourth innings.

After Callie Darlin retired the side in the first inning, Rollins erupted for eight in the second and got two more in the third to take a 10-lead.  Darlin also got the Tars to go 1-2-3 in the fourth and allowed nine earned runs in the loss.

Kirsten Frame allowed just two hits and struck out six for the Tars who have won 28 straight regular season and conference games.

LU is back in action tomorrow when they take on the same Tars in a 1 pm doubleheader.  Fans can follow the action of both games by logging onto www.LynnFightingKnights.com.
