HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter
  • The Fighting Knights trailed for the majority of the opening period as MIT notched two goals in the first six minutes for a 2-1 lead.
  • With under six to go, Mikey Urso and Austin Jerhoff then dialed in offensively, leading Lynn on a 4-0 run. At least one of the two had their hand in Lynn's first five goals with Urso recording a first quarter hat trick and Jerhoff picking up two goals and two assists.
  • MIT's Harris Stolzenberg picked up his second of the game at the one-minute warning, but Anthony Rainone buried a shot off a pass from Jacob Van Lennen with 15 seconds remaining to give Lynn a 6-3 edge.

Second Quarter

  • The second quarter was completely in favor of the Blue & White as the home squad tallied six unanswered to take a 12-3 lead in the locker room at halftime.
  • Urso got on the helping end early, finding Jerhoff and Rainone for the first two goals of the period.
  • Brian Kiel got on the board with the aid from Stephen Polsinelli and Ryan Madigan closed out the offensive burst with an unassisted strike.

Third Quarter

  • MIT capitalized on a Lynn pushing penalty at the onset of the second half, opening up the scoring with a man-up goal.
  • Polsinelli then found the back of the net, but the Engineers countered with two straight.
  • Urso slung in his fifth goal of the game to put Lynn up 14-6 heading into the last quarter.

Fourth Quarter

  • Two exceptional individual efforts highlighted the start of the final stanza. LSM Greg Morrisette hustled for a groundball in front of the net and quickly fired it past the keeper while diving through the air for his second goal of the season. Rainone followed up on the next possession with a slick underhand rip into the upper corner.
  • Austin Shircliff capped the Fighting Knights' scoring off a dish from Jacob Van Leenen.
STATS OF THE GAME:
  • Lynn's starting trio in the attack did the heavy lifting, accounting for 12 of the 17 goals. Urso, Rainone and Jerhoff all finished with four apiece.
  • The trio, along with Jacob Van Leenen, all added two helpers.
  • The Fighting Knights held a 17-10 advantage at the X, led by a 12-of-17 effort from Christopher Lasprogata. The sophomore also recorded a career-high 10 groundball pickups.
  • Pat Brothers picked up his fifth win of the season in between the pipes, recording 10 saves over the first three quarters. Taylor Ferrino made six stops in the final frame.
  • Cody Bartusiak led the defensive effort with a career-high-tying three caused turnovers.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Lynn was nearly perfect on the clear, executing a season-high 26-of-27.
  • It was the first loss of the season for the Engineers.
  • The Fighting Knights were held without a man-up goal for the first time this season.
  • Jerhoff and Rainone combined for eight goals last season in a 16-9 win over MIT.
