SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Lynn University National Champion sophomore
Salma Djoubri captured the 2023 ITA Cup Women's Singles Super Bowl and punched her ticket to the Division I ITA National Championships in early November.
Djoubri defeated Nadja Meier of Flagler College, 7-6 (7-2), 6-1 to win the Division II ITA National Championship after posting dominating wins in the first three rounds.
With the win, Djoubri earned a wild card into the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships (Division I) in a few weeks in San Diego (Nov. 1-5) at the Barnes Tennis Center.
The Championships are the grand finale to the fall collegiate tennis season and feature 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and 64 doubles teams (32 men's teams and 32 women's teams).
This year's women's singles field will include 31 NCAA Division I players and Djoubri after her Super Bowl victory.
The event is in its fifth year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships beginning in 2017.
