AUSTIN, Texas – The 2023 Academic All-America men's soccer teams were selected by the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday, and Lynn student-athletes Fabio Menzel and Patrick O'Halloran were each named to the Division II Third Team. Lynn is one of just six schools in NCAA Division II with multiple Academic All-Americans, while the duo made up half of the four honorees from the Sunshine State Conference. 

Menzel, a senior Sociology major from Bonn, Germany, earned Third Team honors thanks to a 3.93 GPA. On the field, the defenseman was named to the All-SSC Third Team. He tied for fifth on the Fighting Knights with seven points, posting two goals and three assists in 2023. 

O'Halloran, a senior Social Work major from Taunton, England owned a 4.0 GPA and was the only forward named to the Third Team. With four goals and four assists, he also earned spots on the D2CCA All-South Region Second Team and All-SSC Third Team in 2023. 

The Division II Men's Soccer Academic All-American Team is comprised of 35 honorees, while O'Halloran is one of just 10 student-athletes to carry a perfect 4.0 GPA. 

Menzel and O'Halloran are the eighth and ninth Academic All-Americans in the history of the Lynn men's soccer program. Their selections mark just the third time in program history that two men's soccer players were honored in the same season and the first since 2008.
