TEMPE, Ariz. – The ITA has started to announce its 2023-24 postseason awards and Lynn University standout Salma
Djoubri has been selected as the ITA Player to Watch Award Winner following a dominating sophomore season.
The Caudebec Les Elbeuf, France native, opened the '23-24 campaign by winning the singles National Championship at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia in the fall. She defeated Nadja Meier of Flagler to win the DII Championship and the win punched her ticket to the 2023 ITA National Fall Championships (Division I) where she advanced to the round of 16.
Djoubri was the only DII player to compete in the Division I Fall Championships and was one of 32 players in the field.
She posted even more impressive numbers during the spring season as she cruised to an 18-1 singles record without a loss to a DII opponent.
Djoubri was Division II's top-ranked player in each of the nine ITA singles rankings and she was 3-0 against players ranked inside the top-five. She also added 12 wins in doubles action.
Djoubri was named the Sunshine State Conference Athlete of the Year for the second time and helped Lynn to a No. 4 ranking with a 17-4 overall record.
Last spring,
Djoubri was named the ITA National Rooke of the Year and an All-American.
