BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University men's swimming team enters the 2025-26 campaign riding a wave of momentum after a record-setting 2024-25 season that saw the program reach new heights at both the Sunshine State Conference and NCAA Championships.
The Fighting Knights finished 10th at Nationals—the highest placement in program history—and collected seven NCAA All-Americans and a record four All-SSC selections.
Senior
Maurice Grabowski made program history as the first Lynn male swimmer to earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-America honors, while fellow senior
Vitaly Kostin claimed First Team All-America honors and a national silver medal in the 200 butterfly (1:43.96), breaking his own SSC record in the process.
Freshman standout
Kamil Geisner was named the SSC Freshman of the Year, joining Mohamed Masmoudi (2019-20) as the only Lynn swimmers to earn the honor. Geisner also secured Second Team All-SSC recognition, with Grabowski and Kostin landing on the First Team and junior
Max Tsyfarov rounding out the group on the Third Team.
"There's a lot of hype on the men's side right now," said head coach
Niki Alvarez. "We're only in year seven as a program, but the guys have this belief—they know how good they can be, and they're not afraid of the bigger teams anymore."
The Knights return several key NCAA qualifiers, including
Paul Melcer,
Spencer Hobbs, and
Jack Budd, forming one of the deepest and most versatile rosters in program history.
"We've filled some holes we've had in past years," Alvarez noted. "We'll be much stronger in distance this year, and our sprint depth will make our relays even more competitive. Honestly, all five of our men's relays have the potential to be nationally ranked."
Assistant coach
Mike Greisl echoed that confidence.
"You can tell how hungry this group is," said Greisl. "They're not just trying to make nationals anymore—they're trying to score big points there. The belief and work ethic are at another level."
The Fighting Knights will open their home schedule on Saturday, October 25, when they welcome Barry University to the McCusker Pool Complex at 12:00 p.m.
