Fairholm was a four-year letterwinner for the Fighting Knightsfrom 1989-1992 and becomes the second baseball player elected toLU's Hall of Fame. One of the program's greatest hitters andbaserunners, his best season came in 1991 when he set a schoolrecord and led NAIA District 25 with a .451 batting average and 43stolen bases, earning Team MVP and NAIA All-Star honors. He wasalso a runner-up as the NAIA District 25 Player of the Year. Duringhis time with the Blue and White, Fairholm swiped 66 stolen bases,second-most in school history, and hit .408, becoming just one oftwo players to bat over .400 for their careers.
