Lynn University

Steenkamp, a four-year letterwinner of the men's soccer squad,graduated from Lynn in 1993. He was a four-time NAIA All-Americaselection and was honored as the NAIA and LU Most Valuable Playerin 1991 when the Fighting Knights won their second NationalChampionship. Steenkamp still holds the program record for goals ina game (4) and is in the top-five for goals (25) and points (63) ina season and matches played (89), goals (60), assists (29) andpoints (149) for a career. Since leaving Lynn, the South Africannative has had a healthy professional soccer career that has lastedover 12 seasons. Playing primarily for the Rochester Rhinos,Steenkamp is a three-time recipient of the Leadership Award and wasnamed MVP once.
