McKinley was a four-year letterwinner (1987-90) for the men'ssoccer team, helping guide the Fighting Knights to the 1987 NAIANational Championship in his first season. Over his career hetallied 26 goals, 17 assists and 69 points. He set career highs forgoals, assists and points in his final season, scoring 11 goalswith seven assists for 29 points, as he helped the Blue and Whiteto their second consecutive NAIA National runner-up finish. Whileat LU, the soccer team lost only 10 games in four years andadvanced past the quarterfinals every season.
