One of the pioneers of the women’s soccer program, Nielsenwas a key member of the Fighting Knights from 1990-93.  Thefour-year letterwinner helped lead the team to its first nationalchampionship in 1992 and a national-runner-up finish in 1993. Nielsen was named the 1992 NAIA National Most Valuable Player whenshe scored 25 goals and added eight assists for 58 points.  Inaddition, she was honored as a two-time NSCAA and two-time NAIAAll-American and showed she was just as brilliant in the classroomby earning Scholar-Athlete All-America accolades in her finalyear.  She holds the record for most goals scored in a career(89), is tied for third with 205 points and led her team in scoringand goals all four seasons.
